Great excitement today in the 8 acres - Its Finals Day for the Mini Road leagues - 16 teams battling it out in 8 finals

Briddles Burgers was flying - 120 Burgers & 100 Hot Dogs were eaten today - Teas, Coffees, Water, Minerals, Snacks - not a sausage (literally) was left after the weeks activities.

The pitches looked fantastic - fresh white lines again - & the Big Gazebo was up. The sun was out with only a couple of showers during the day & the VEO camera for recording matches was out.

DJ Clive had the PA set up & the Champions league tune reverbed around Greentrees park all afternoon.

Benny O'Byrne - kind sponsor of the tournament in the name of his Dad - surprised us with a visit home from New York - arriving in time to present the trophies (along with members of the family) to the players competing in the various age group finals.

What a wonderful week we all had - capped off with a few pints in the Laurels for the organising committee.

Results & trophy winners are below - thanks to all volunteers who helped out this week - taking down goals, litter picking across the pitches, wrapping up the Gazebo every night & unpacking the tables, chairs & nets into the dressing rooms each evening.
