The Under 15’s beat their old rivals Collinstown in a fantastic 3-2 victory away from home this evening. Manortown finished runners up to Collinstown last year, so the two teams know each other very well.

Collinstown took an early lead to go one up with a well worked goal, cutting through our midfield. The town picked themselves up and equalised through Cameron Dominic with a right footed shot from just inside the box. Just before half time Ross Cullen beat his man in the middle of the park and hit a 20 yarder that went in the top right corner to make it 2-1 at half time. A couple of missed chances by Logan O’Connell, who was so unlucky not to score and put the game out of reach. Collinstown equalised with 10 minutes to go after a scramble in the box fell kindly. The team rallied each other and pushed for the winner.

With 5 minutes to go, a through ball set Seán Murphy away down the left wing, who drove with the ball into the box and, from the tightest of angles, drove a left footed shot and beat the keeper on his near post, to score what turned out the be the winner. This was a huge win that lifts the team into second place. C’mon on the Town!
